Barron G. Collier (FL) sophomore midfielder Olivia Ferrucci has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of North Carolina.

Major lacrosse honors: US Lacrosse 2012 First Team All-American, Under Armour 2012 All-American Underclass Team, NDN 2012 Girls Lacrosse Player of the Year, First Team 2012 All-Conference, MVP 2012 Barron Collier Varsity Lacrosse, Varsity letters in Lacrosse and Basketball as a Freshman, University of Florida 2011 Elite Camp All-Star

Why did you choose UNC? “First, how could anyone not love the absolutely amazing coaching staff at UNC! The current and former players I met are all impressive people and all had great things to say about their time at UNC. Then there is the long-lasting lacrosse tradition of being one of the strongest and most competitive teams in the nation. UNC’s academic program is top notch and finally, the icing on the cake is the beautiful campus and weather.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for next season? “With most starters returning, and some great new teammates with even more speed, we expect to battle for the Florida State Championship this season.”
