“This was a really nice ending for a good group. I’m surrounded by awesome coaches, awesome athletes and I’m really proud to be here.”

St. John’s (13-5) pulled within 4-3, with 5:20 to play in the first half. But St. Anthony’s went on a 5-0 run and later led, 12-4, before coasting to the victory.

“I’m elated,” said Bonafede. “We played amazing. It was a great game and it is a great feeling.”

The league’s player of the year honor was given to Maggie Bill who tallied two goals and two assists. Kasey Behr scored three goals, Isabela Mangan scored two goals and one assist and Taylor Mitchell tallied two goals for St. Anthony’s.

“I couldn’t have asked to be with a better team,” said Bill. “I’m so proud of everyone. I’m sad my career is over but I’m happy with the way it ended. We work so hard every single year, the coaches push us so much and we all want it every year. This is incredible.”
