Lake Highland Prep won the Florida state boys’ lacrosse championship last month in dramatic style as Devon Lewis scored with 6:10 to play in the game, lifting the Highlanders to an 8-7 victory over Saint Andrew’s at West Orange High School in Winter Garden.

The two teams were meeting in the finals of the fourth straight year. Lake Highland (20-5) avenged a 10-5 loss to the Scots earlier this year and a 16-10 loss to them in last year’s title game.
Lewis, Will Wolfson, and Billy Roll each scored twice and Adam Sawicki made seven saves in goal for the win.
Lake Highland Prep used a 4-0 spurt to seize a 7-5 lead, but Andy Wheeler (four goals) scored twice within a minute to tie the contest at 7-7 with 7 minutes left.
Max Parker was a key for Lake Highland at the face-off X.
