Great Oak (CA) 2018 defenseman Louie Fiacco has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the College of the Holy Cross.
Louie Fiacco profile:
High school: Great Oak High School, CA
Year of graduation: 2018
Position: Defense
College committed to: College of the Holy Cross
Club teams: 395 Starz/West Coast Starz
Lacrosse honors: 2nd Team All County, 2xVarsity Starter, 2x Varsity Teamwork Award Recipient. “Impressed at Black Card” Ty Xanders
Academic honors: 2x Scholar Athlete 2015/2016
Intended major: Physics
Why did you choose Holy Cross? “In my college recruiting experience I was searching for a college with a strong academic reputation that would prepare me for graduate school, coupled with an outstanding lacrosse program able to compete with the best schools in the nation. Upon visiting Holy Cross and meeting Coach (Judd) Lattimore and Coach (Peter) Burke, and looking at the construction of the new athletic facilities, I knew right away that this would be a perfect fit for me on many different levels and that I would be honored to call Holy Cross my home after graduating high school.”
HS team’s outlook for 2017: “My personal and team goals for the rest of my High School seasons are one and the same. My freshman year we made it to the first round of CIF playoffs; sophomore year to 2nd round, which is the furthest any Great Oak Lacrosse team has ever progressed in post season play. My goal is simply to help Great Oak High School play for the CIF championship title. We have a new coach, Mike Bowers, who has taken over the program from Karl Rohlin and with his coaching and the talent we have on our team, this goal is well within our reach.”
Thank You: “I would like to thank coach Paul Morgan for working with me over the past six years and being my first club coach, without him I wouldn’t be the defensive player I am today. I would like to thank coach Karl Rohlin for being instrumental in sharpening and honing my defensive skills and believing in me the first time I stepped on the field as a freshman at Great Oak High School. I would also like to thank coaches Jono Zissi and Jesse Foss and the rest of the Adrenaline team for supporting me and giving me the opportunity to play on some of the best teams at some of the best recruiting showcases and tournaments in the nation. Finally, I would like to thank my mom, dad, and two sisters for helping me chase my dreams of playing lacrosse at the next level.”
Other schools considered: Cornell, Georgetown, Brown
