Union, Kentucky native, Michael Lanier ’24, is joining Division 2 Belmont Abbey men’s lacrosse class of 2028. The Ryle High School senior midfielder has quite some accomplishments to bring with him to college as he was selected to the Under Armour All American team, NCAA d2 Showcase All Star team, earned All State and All Region, is a varsity captain, and has played in his region’s all star coach selected games all three years of high school. While Michael excels on the field he also hits the books, having a 3.85 GPA and he will be studying Business-Marketing at Belmont Abbey. Michael also had interest in Wingate University, Limestone University, and Anderson University but he told TLC he ultimately chose Belmont abbey because, “Belmont Abbey provides a great opportunity to receive a high quality education while playing lacrosse at one of the top NCAA Division 2 programs in the country. The campus is impressive and only 15 minutes from downtown Charlotte.” He also added “I want to thank my parents, as I’m forever grateful for the sacrifices made and the countless hours they’ve dedicated to helping me succeed. I want to also thank all my coaches for their support and guidance throughout my journey.” From the Top Lax recruits Family, we wish you the best of luck in North Carolina and can’t wait to see all you accomplish, Michael!
