Longmeadow High School (MA) 2015 attackman Josh Goldberg has made a commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Endicott College.
Josh Goldberg ledger:
High School: Longmeadow High School, MA
Graduation Year: 2015
Position: Attack
College Choice: Endicott College (ConnectLAX college profile)
Club Affiliations: Fundamental Lacrosse and Progression Lacrosse
Lacrosse Honors: 2014 Under Armour New England Tryout Top 88, 2013 Legacy Elite All-Star, 2013 Summer and Fall National Invite 175
What will you major in/study? Sports Management
Why did you choose Endicott? “I chose Endicott for a variety of reasons. First, Endicott is a home away from home. Something I can say no other school offered me.
“Secondly, the campus is absolutely beautiful. Also, the Sports Management program along with the unique Internship opportunity offers me access to be prepared for what I will do once I graduate.
“Lastly, Coach Sean Quirk and his staff of Coaches, Eric Hagarty, Mike Sciamanna, Lars Keil and Peter Erickson exemplify the meaning of team on and off the field which is something I have learned to value rather quickly. Coach Quirk has a proven track record. The guys on the team on my overnight made me feel like I had 45 best friends within 1 night of being on campus.”
Outlook for 2015 HS season? “We lost a core group of seniors that really left their mark on the program. I looked up to most of these guys so we will miss them dearly. We have a strong group of Juniors and Seniors that will lead the team this year.”
Thank You: “Among the many people I’d like to thank I will start with the foundation of my support system. My mom, dad and brother who mean the world to me. Whether it’s driving 6 1/2 hours to Gettysburg and back, or waking up on a weekend at the crack of dawn to go to practice, they have been there.
“Next, I would like to thank the living legend Coach D (Darryl Delia). This man’s wealth of knowledge and connections is untouched by any other coach out there. The bond I formed with Coach D is a testament to the power of a great coach like himself. Also, I’d like to thank Coach Jon Basti who at times was like an older brother or young uncle who was hip enough to reason with me regarding life and/or lacrosse.
“Next, I owe a huge thank you to Coach Quran Hodge who has made me not only a faster and better lacrosse player but a better person as well. I would also like to Jon Davis and Chris Ott of PowerHouse Training.
“I would like to thank Jason and Desiree Golub of Synergy Massage & Bodywork for taking me under their wing and really refocusing my life in the right direction.
“Lastly, I would like to thank the Foley Family who is like a second set of parents. These people tirelessly work and modestly go about their business always doing for others when they need it. Without these people I am not sure where I would be in my lacrosse career.
“Again, a huge thank you to Coach (Sean) Quirk and his terrific staff who I look forward to having the privilege of playing under for the next four years.”
Other schools considered: Sacred Heart, Pace, Wagner
