Andrew Mapstone profile:

High School: Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, NY
Position: Attack
Graduation Year: 2019
College Choice: Lehigh University
Club Team: Sweetlax
Lacrosse Honors: 2 time All-League selection, All-Greater Rochester HM- 2017 Section V All-Tournament Team
Academic Honors: 2 time NYSPHSAA Scholar Athlete, National Honor Society
Expected Major: Undecided/ Medicine
Why did you choose Lehigh? “I visited a number of schools and met a number of great coaches but there was something different about Lehigh and the coaching staff. I really felt connected with them and I could see myself having a good experience there. I also wanted to go to a school that had a great reputation academically and I found that at Lehigh.”
HS team’s outlook for 2018 season? “We ended our 2017 season with a disappointing loss in the Section V Championship and missed out on playing in the State Tournament. We graduated only four seniors from that 17-2 team and we are fired up to get another chance in 2018.”
Thank You: “I want to thank my teammates from HFL and Sweetlax. They are my best friends and I love playing with them. I want to thank Jack Beaney and Jeff Price my HFL coaches for making lacrosse fun and allowing me to be creative. I want to thank my Sweetlax coach Bobby Wynne from Salisbury for his effort in putting together one of the best 2019 teams in the country. I want to thank my brother Alex for being a role model and pushing me. I want to thank my parents for all of their time spent and the advice given to helping me achieve my dreams. Lastly, I want to thank my grandparents- my biggest fans.”
Other schools considered: Loyola, Hobart, Richmond, Colgate & Towson
