Cambridge High School (GA) 2017 goalie Ben Clark has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Bucknell University.
Ben Clark ledger:
High School: Cambridge High School, GA
Graduation Year: 2017
Position: Goalie
College Choice: Bucknell University
Club Affiliation: Thunder Lacrosse Club
Lacrosse Honors: Nike Bluechip, Varsity Starter (2 years), All-State rising Freshman, Two time Brine National selection, All-Star nomination at Brine National
What will you major in/study? Business or Medicine
Why did you choose Bucknell? “Bucknell was my first choice. I chose it first and foremost for the academics. It is a school that is nationally recognized for having athletes who can balance tough course loads along with D1 lacrosse.
“Bucknell has also always been a dream school of mine. They provided me the opportunity to catch my first glimpse of college lacrosse when in 2010, they traveled to Georgia to play Duke.
“When I visited the Bucknell campus, it of gave off an amazing vibe to go along with an amazing coaching staff. I knew Bucknell was where I wanted to be and I truly can’t wait to officially become a Bison.”
Thoughts on your HS team’s season? “Cambridge is looking for their first Georgia A-AAAAA State Championship which we believe is in reach for the 2015-16 season. Under Coach D’Andraia we look to ride the shoulders of the Junior class this season. Losing only 6 seniors, 2 of which were starters, we look to pick up right where we left off. We also have a strong Sophomore Class, with a few who will be great assets to the varsity team.”
Thank You: “First, I would like to thank Coach Hudson from Thunder Lacrosse for guiding me through the recruiting process. Coach Hudson taught me new skills, and broke me of bad habits until I was a Division 1 ready goalie.
“I would also like to thank Coach Rabbitt for welcoming me to Thunder Lacrosse, as this past season was my first with the program.
“I would like to thank Coach Mike D’Andraia of Cambridge High School for his constant support in the recruiting process and throughout the Spring 2015 Season.
“Finally, I would like to thank both my parents, Susan and Dan Clark. They both took time to travel with me to all of the showcases, tournaments and college visits. I know the process is expensive and I would like to thank them for providing me the opportunity to pursue my dream of playing Division 1 lacrosse.”
Other schools considered: Holy Cross and Dartmouth
