From Press Release
ConnectLAX has partnered with LEGACY Global Sports (LGS) and the Maverik National Lacrosse Classic (NLC), now in its 12th year, to provide recruiting profiles for NLC high school players and digital coaching books and recruiting resources for college coaches in attendance.
The 2019 NLC – slated for June 15-18 at the Delaware Turf Sports Complex – will feature 800 high school players, all of whom will be encouraged to create in-depth ConnectLAX profiles containing their athletic measurables, academic standing, college preferences, and more. These recruits will be able to use the ConnectLAX platform to research colleges and engage with coaches before they even arrive to compete at the 2019 NLC. In addition, all film assets and digital team rosters will be shared with college coaches that attend the NLC for a better post-event recruiting experience. This partnership will help add to the 1,900+ current NCAA athletes that are part of NLC Nation!
“We’re very excited to be a part of LEGACY Global Sports’ NLC event. They curate a lot of talent from across the country and have helped elevate the profile of different regions,” said Gage Mersereau of ConnectLAX. “As an Indiana HS player, I can remember my team being ranked #1 in-state and greater than 1,000 nationally on LaxPower, so that desire to rep your state and see where you stack up is a part of every high school player. It’s a great format for our digital coach book.
“This staple event has been on our radar for a long time as it mirrors our mission of educating players. Their educational series on sports psychology, sports medicine and recruiting is well regarded.”
Registered participants will receive their exclusive ConnectLAX sign up link for the Maverik National Lacrosse Classic from LGS. ConnectLAX will provide video tutorials for the athletes to ensure they are getting best use of the platform, in addition to addressing NLC families at the event about how ConnectLAX can aid in the recruiting process.
“This is a win-win for our event,” said Chris Boland of LGS Lacrosse. “The ConnectLAX platform will greatly benefit our participating HS athletes and their families, as well as our college coaches making the recruiting trip to Delaware.
“Our high school participants are going to get an incredible value with free access to the ConnectLAX platform, at a crucial time in their recruiting process. In addition, the digital coach book ConnectLAX provides will have the NLC high school participants’ information at the fingertips of college coaches all the way through the recruiting cycle.”
The 2019 Maverik National Lacrosse Classic will be held at the DE Turf Sports Complex for the second straight year, in Frederica. In addition to an individual showcase style event, where players represent their home state, the event features an Olympic-style Opening Ceremony, team practice sessions, agility training, seminars by NCAA coaches and leading sports professionals, youth and middle school academy training sessions led by top NCAA coaches, and a players lounge where the participants can unwind and participate in social activities that include prizes and giveaways.
