Titanium Lacrosse, the Midwest’s leading club for developing 3rd to 12th grade male players through a holistic approach that balances athletic, academic and lacrosse- skill development, today announced the acquisition of KC Orange.
Beginning in the fall of 2013, Titanium KC, Titanium Nebraska, and Titanium Oklahoma will provide a comprehensive package of offerings including clinics, camps, lessons, athletic performance training, leagues, select teams and educational offerings.
The Director of Titanium KC, Nebraska and Oklahoma is Chris Kliewer, head coach at Shawnee Mission East (SME) in Prairie Village, Kansas. Under Kliewer’s leadership, SME has won the Lacrosse Association of Kansas Schools state championship the past three years (2011, 2012 and 2013). Prior to taking the head coaching position at SME, Kliewer was an assistant coach at Rockhurst High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where his teams were MSLA Division 1 state champions in 2010 and runners-up in 2009. Kliewer currently serves as the US Lacrosse Great Plains Chapter Vice President.
“Having had the opportunity to work with Chris Kliewer and others involved with KC Orange, I was impressed with their ‘player-first’ focus and passion for growing the sport,” said AJ Auld, CEO of Titanium Lacrosse, “Chris and I spent the better part of six months working on a solution that would take the best of KC Orange and overlap the fully integrated, player-centered lacrosse methodologies of Titanium.”
“Titanium’s primary consideration when expanding into a new market is having experienced, successful coaches who are committed to teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse and creating an enjoyable learning environment,” said Auld. “Combining the KC Orange coaches with some of the contacts Titanium has in the area will provide players with the best opportunity to develop their skills and pursue aspirations of playing at the next level.”
“KC Orange’s transition into the Titanium family will afford our players access to the best methodologies, recruiting education, and a host of additional value-driven benefits,” said Chris Kliewer, Director of Titanium KC, Nebraska and Oklahoma. “Additionally, Titanium will provide the coaches in each area with high-level continuous education that will surely grow the knowledge base, thus better developing our players.”
Titanium KC, Nebraska and Oklahoma will shortly announce tryout dates for select travel teams, fall and winter league offerings, and a comprehensive package of clinics and training sessions. All offerings will follow the “Titanium Methodology” that has produced nationally competitive teams and led to more players being recruiting to play Division 1 college lacrosse than any other club in the Midwest.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity to bring the KC Orange players into the Titanium family,” said Auld. “The addition of Kansas City, Nebraska and Oklahoma only makes Titanium stronger while enabling us to provide a high quality, enjoyable lacrosse experience for these growing lacrosse areas.”
