Curtis Zappala and Dutch Buckley each had two goals and Ian Strain added a goal and three assists while Kevin Gayhardt led the defense as host Episcopal Academy (PA) stunned No. 2 La Salle (PA), 8-2, today in non-league boys’ lacrosse.
EA (3-3) got six groundballs and two caused turnovers from Gayhardt, a senior defender headed to Penn. TheChurchmen also dominated at the face-off X as Matt Ernst won 11 of 12 draws and EA won 13 of 14 overall.
Tyler Chambers had a goal and an assist for the Churchmen and Peter Gayhardt added one goal. Sophomore goalie Colin Reder made seven saves.
La Salle (2-1) got two goals from Maryland-bound Matt Rambo.
