Saint Viator High (Ill.) senior defenseman Andrew Romano has committed to play Division III lacrosse at Eastern University.

Andrew Romano ledger:

Andrew Romano

High school: Saint Viator High School, Arlington Heights, Ill.

Graduation year:
2013

Position: Defense

College choice: Eastern University

Club affiliations: True Lacrosse Illinois 2013 and American Revolution Lacrosse

Major lacrosse honors, camps: Peak 21 All Star Team-2011, Ultimate Lacrosse Camp, Badger State Lacrosse Camp, John Hopkins Lacrosse Camp, True Lacrosse Showcase 2011 & 2012, Under Armour Midwest Tryouts

What will you major in/study: Entrepreneurial Business/Management

Why did you choose school?
“I chose Eastern University because of its outstanding reputation and its excellent business program. Graduating from there will allow me the opportunity to come back home and develop new business opportunities with my father.”

Outlook for your high school team:
“For the first time in school history, Saint Viator was seeded third in the State Playoffs. Although we have lost six seniors, we have a great group of kids coming up who should complement the team nicely. We are looking to repeat again this year or move up.”

Other comments:
“I’d like to thank my Varsity Head Lacrosse Coach, William Sanford, my Defensive Coach, Jon Rustay, my Strength & Conditioning Coach, Matt Saey, for their faith in me and pushing me to do my very best. I’d also like to thank Jake Deane and Mike Gabel of True Lacrosse for giving me the opportunity to play club lacrosse. It has taken my game to a whole different level. Also, a thanks to all my True Lacrosse coaches over the past two years for their encouragement.”
