Marjory Stoneman Douglas (FL) rising junior defenseman-LSM AJ Ferraro has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the US Naval Academy.

College choice: US Naval Academy

Major lacrosse honors, camps and showcases: Jake Reed Nike Blue Chip rising junior (from which I was committed from); Attending with Team Florida-Battle of the Hot Beds at University of Delaware July 21-24; Made Hot Beds All-Star Team 2015 – (Summer 2012); Duke 120; Diamond Warrior Showcase

What will you major in/study: Business

Why did you choose Navy?
“I really enjoyed my tour of the Naval Academy and got a very positive feeling on the direction the lacrosse program is going. I sensed a strong commitment that they will continue to build the program. Also, I aspire to ultimately become a Naval Officer as well as serve my country in a meaningful capacity.”

Outlook for your high school team in 2014: “We have a new incoming coach, Ryan Burton, who has high expectations for the program.”

Other schools considered: Notre Dame, the University of Michigan and Hofstra University.
