High School: Lake Highland Prep, Orlando, Fl.

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Face-off Specialist

College Choice: Syracuse University

Club Affiliation:
Team Florida

Major lacrosse honors: Nike Honor Roll, Nike South Top Performer, Set state single season record for face-off wins (342), First Team All Central Florida, State Ranked #1 FOGO, 76% at the faceoff X, Under Armour Underclass All-American (South), Gait Cup All-Star, 3D Blue Chip South All-Star

Academic honors: Presidents List x8, Deans List x4, Duke TIP Scholar, B.A.S.E. Camp leader

What will you major in/study? Cellular Biology

Why did you choose the school? “I chose Syracuse because of the ‘home’ feeling I received the moment I stepped on campus. In addition, the beauty of the school and Upstate in general, along with the size and new biology building, made this decision very easy. Coach (John) Desko and (Lelan) Rogers made me feel right at home and I know that I am going to be a part of a close knit, unbreakable family.”

What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season? “This past season, our team was able to win the State Championship, and I can’t describe to you how that feels, I am only able to detail to you that I want that feeling again this upcoming year. Without these graduating Seniors, it will be difficult, but those group of guys were so special and inspiring that I realize now what type of leadership it takes to bring together 40 or so guys to make one determined whole ready to repeat.”

Thank You: “I am religious, so I’d like to quickly say that anything I have ever done in my life would be impossible without God. Even though I thank my parents for what they do for me everyday, I know still that it is not enough because they both spend love and time on me that I can’t begin to repay. To all my High School and Club Coaches over the years, I couldn’t have done it without you guys; you all gave me this opportunity to play D1 lacrosse at the highest level and I promise on my honor I shall not waste it. To my friends, thanks for never quitting to believe in me and never stop encouraging me to do my best. I really do believe in Orlando, Florida, I have the best friends, family and coaches anyone could have.”

Other schools considered? Ohio State, Dartmouth, Brown, St. John’s, Tufts, Bowdoin, Middlebury
