Why did you choose Stony Brook University? “When I started this process Stony Brook was one of my top choices right from the beginning. Stony Brook University has an excellent academic reputation. My father graduated from Stony Brook and has always spoken highly of how well Stony Brook had prepared him for his future.
“My uncle, who also attended, was a starting attackman for Stony Brook in the late nineties. I have watched many Suffolk County High School Championship games at LaValle Stadium and I always thought it would be a great experience to play there one day myself.
“Stony Brook is also close to my home town so my family can continue to watch my games as I play at the college level. After my initial meeting with Coach (Jim) Nagle, Coach (Craig) Gibson, and Coach (Andrew) Watkins my choice was an extremely easy one. I felt very comfortable around them and they made me feel very welcomed. I felt like it was a perfect fit for me and I knew instantly that there was no where else that I would rather play college Lacrosse than at Stony Brook. I am looking forward to the opportunity to be coached by Coach Nagle, Coach Gibson, and Coach Watkins.”
What is your High School team’s outlook for the season? “Even though High School Lacrosse just ended a few weeks ago, our team realizes that next season starts right now.
“I am looking forward to the next two years of my High School career. We will be a relatively young team but we have several key seniors who will lead our team in the right direction. My class of rising juniors is very strong. Myself and two teammates will return as three year starters. We also have a core group of very talented midfielders from my Junior class. My attack line this year I feel will be phenomenal. I will be starting with a sophomore and a freshman both of whom are extremely talented. We will be working together to form a solid attack unit.
“The past two seasons our team has made it to the playoff’s but fell short of getting a playoff win. We are not satisfied with that. We have set a goal for ourselves to become County Champions and we are all committed to work hard to achieve this. We hope to advance even further and get to States one season.”
Thank You: “I would like to start off by thanking my parents for all their love and support they give me each and every day. If it wasn’t for them being able to take me to every training session, practice session, and to the fields to shoot, I would not have been able to be where I am today. They always told me that if you work hard at anything it will pay off in the future.
“I also want to thank my High School Coaches Nils Haugen and Kevin Hennessey for believing in my ability and giving me the opportunity to start and showcase my talent as a Freshman last year. I also want to thank Kyle Keenan who I have trained with for the past year. He has taught me fundamentals and skills that helped improve my game. I also want to thank Xcelleration Sports Training for all their support and tailoring programs to improve my strength and agility on the field.”
