Central Memorial (AB, Canada) junior midfield-attack Cody Graden has made a verbal commitment to play Division II lacrosse at Merrimack College.

Cody Graden ledger:

Cody Graden

High School: Central Memorial (North Glenmore, Calgary, Alberta, Canada)

Graduation Year: 2014

Position: Midfield/Attack

College Choice: Merrimack College (North Andover, Massachusetts)

Club Affiliations: Utah Starz (field), Jr A Mountaineers (indoor)

Major lacrosse honors, All-Star teams, Camps, Showcases: “I have been very fortunate to have been selected to several All-Star teams at various camps and showcases over the past few years in field lacrosse. I was named to the 1st team All-Star team at the Canadian National Box Lacrosse Championships and selected to compete for Team Alberta at the Canadian National Box and Field Championships over the past five years.”

Academic Honors: Academic Honor Roll

What will you major in/study? Pre-Med

Why did you choose the Merrimack? “Merrimack College is a fantastic fit for me scholastically and athletically. Coach (Mike) Morgan is very passionate about both his team and the school which was very evident during my unofficial visits. I am extremely excited to be a part of the program he has developed both on and off the field.”

What is your HS team’s outlook for the season? “I will be playing Jr A box this spring in Calgary for the Mountaineers and am very eager to be a part of the team Coach (Rick) Windl has built over the past few years. I would suggest that we have an excellent opportunity to compete for 1st overall in the province of Alberta and subsequently qualify for the Canadian Box Jr A Nationals (Minto Cup).”

Thank You: “I have several people to thank in getting to where I am at this point: Coach Mike Morgan (Merrimack College) for his obvious passion for winning and his belief in personal development; Coach Dan Mannix (Utah Starz) for his leadership, trust, friendship and coaching over the past four years; Coach Rick Windl (Jr A Mountaineers) for coaching me all throughout school and sending me to my first recruiting event in Philadelphia; Steve Brandon (NSD – Calgary) for his leadership, inspiration, mentoring and showing me what I can attain physically; My family for all of their support in the past and present.”
